Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research Celebrates International Yoga Day

Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research, Premnagar, Dehradun celebrated 12th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm on 21st June 2026 at the Yoga Hall of Uttaranchal Hospital and Diagnostic Center. The celebration was organized in accordance with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” emphasizing the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being throughout life.

The programme commenced with warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director, UMCAR who highlighted the significance of yoga as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle and its role in ensuring graceful and healthy ageing.

A comprehensive yoga session was conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. Rohan Rawat, Yoga instructor. NCC cadets, faculty and staff members of Uttaranchal University actively participated in various yogic practices, including asanas, pranayama and meditation techniques, aimed at enhancing overall health and well-being.

The faculty and staff members, including Dr. Urvi Dave, Dr. Sunita Fonia, Dr. Shweta Verma, Dr. Jyoti Negi, Dr. Rupali Purohit, Dr.Komal, Dr. Kanchan, Dr. Satwinder Kaur, Dr. Komal Dhiman, Dr. Deepak Dr. Meena,Dr. Meena Joshi, Mr. Chandra Mohan, Mr. Madhav, Mr. Priyansh, Mr. Ganesh participated in the event.

The entire event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR and Dr. Vibhooti Chandrakar, Principal UMCAR.
