Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research Celebrates National Doctors’ Day 2026

Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research, Premnagar, Dehradun, celebrated National Doctors’ Day with great enthusiasm on 1st July 2026. The programme was organized to honour the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contributions of doctors towards society.

The event commenced with the traditional Deep Prajwalan and felicitation of the esteemed guest speaker (Prof) Dr.Girish K.J. This was followed by a soulful rendition of Dhanvantari Vandana and Saraswati Vandana presented by the students of the BAMS 2025 batch, creating a spiritual and auspicious atmosphere.

The formal proceedings began with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Gauri Rathi, BAMS student Batch 2025-26, who extended greetings to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students present on the occasion.

The highlight of the programme was an enlightening guest lecture delivered by Dr. Girish K. J., Professor and Head, Department of Kayachikitsa, and Vice Principal, Patanjali Bhartiya Ayurvigyan Evam Anusandhan Sansthan, Haridwar. In his address, he emphasized the noble responsibilities of medical professionals and inspired the students to uphold the values of compassion, ethics, and service in their future medical careers.

The gathering was further addressed by Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director, UMCAR, who highlighted the significance of Doctors’ Day and appreciated the relentless efforts of healthcare professionals in serving humanity.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by MS. Rafat, BAMS student, expressing gratitude to the guests, faculty members, organizers, and students.

All faculty members, Consultant and staff including Dr. Govind Malik, Dr. Jyoti M Ganer ,Dr.Kannu Ohri, Dr.Sunita Fonia, Dr. Satwinder Kaur etc participated in the event.

The entire event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr.Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR and Dr. Vibhooti Chandrakar, Principal UMCAR.
