Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research celebrates World Health Day

Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research, Premnagar Dehradun celebrated World Health Day on 7th April 2026. The event was organized in alignment with this year’s global theme, “Together for Health: Stand with Science,” emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts and evidence-based healthcare practices.

The event commenced with Dhanvantari & Saraswati vandana by BAMS students. This was followed by welcome address by BAMS student Rafat Khan.

The celebration reflected the core Ayurvedic principle — “Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam, Aturasya Vikara Prashamanam Cha,” which highlights the dual aim of Ayurveda: preserving the health of the healthy and treating diseases of the ill.

The highlight of the event was an informative and engaging PowerPoint presentation session by BAMS Batch 2025 students. The students presented on various health-related topics, focusing on lifestyle, prevention, and the role of Ayurveda in maintaining a normal and balanced life. Their presentations beautifully reflected the essence of this year’s theme by demonstrating how Ayurvedic practices are scientifically relevant and effective in today’s modern world.

The entire event was gracefully hosted by students Jazib and Gauri, who ensured smooth coordination and lively engagement throughout the session.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ladli Singh, who appreciated the efforts of the students, faculty, and organizers in making the celebration meaningful.

The program witnessed the active participation of all faculty members, including Dr. Kannu Ohri, Dr.Urvi Dave, Dr. Govind Malik, Dr. Jyoti M Ganer, Dr.Sunita Fonia along with the entire teaching, consultants and non-teaching staff, making the event a collective success.

The entire event was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR and Dr.Vibhooti Chandrakar, Principal UMCAR.
