Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research (UMCAR), Premnagar, Dehradun commenced its 15-day induction program “Ayurpraveshika” for Batch 2025–26 from 10th December to 27th December 2025.
The inaugural program on 10th December 2025 at Swami Vivekanand Auditorium, Uttaranchal University began with Deep Prajwalan and Dhanvantari Vandana, followed by a felicitation ceremony. Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director, UMCAR delivered the welcome address. The Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Arun Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, Uttarakhand Ayurved University, inspired students, while Mr. Narendra Singh, Registrar, UAU attended as Guest of Honor. The event was also graced by Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University and Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University. The program was anchored by Dr. Komal Dhiman and Dr. Satwinder Kaur, featured a dance by BAMS Batch 2024 and a vocal performance by Dr. Deepak Prasad Raturi, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ravi Joshi, Principal, UMCAR.
On 11th December 2025, the day began with spiritual invocation, followed by Vadantu Sanskritam by Dr. Deepak Prasad Raturi, Assistant Professor Sanskrit. The highlight of the day was an insightful guest lecture on Mental Health and Well-Being by Dr. Kanu Ohri, Professor, Department of Dravyaguna. Later, Dr. Rupali Purohit, Assistant Professor, Panchakarma introduced the students to various UMCAR faculties. Post-lunch session by Dr. Vidya Rani Joshi, Associate Professor, Kriya Sharir on the Basics of Physiology, followed by session on curriculum and evaluation scheme by Dr. Vibhooti Chandrakar, Professor Samhita and Siddhant.
On 12th December 2025, students were taken on an off-campus educational tour to Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun.
The 13th December 2025 sessions included Code of Medical Ethics by Dr. Jyoti M. Ganer, Professor, Agad Tantra, a motivational talk by Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR and a guest lecture on Mental Fortitude by Dr. Himanshi Sharma, Consultant Psychologist, Graphic Era University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
On Date 15th December 2025, the day featured a lecture by Dr. Ramveer Tanwar, Chief librarian, Uttaranchal University on library norms and academic resources, followed by lecture on hand hygiene, universal precautions, and infection control measures, emphasizing safe clinical practices by Dr. Urvi R. Dave, Professor, Rognidan.
The highlight of the day was a guest lecture by Dr. Rajeev Kurele, Associate Professor UAU, followed by an informative session on ERP by Mr. Arun Thakur, Senior Librarian, Uttaranchal University.
Post-lunch session, by Dr. Govind Mallik, Professor, Rachana Sharir on basic concept of Rachana Sharir.
On Date 16th December 2025 witnessed the sacred Shisyopanayana Sanskar, performed by Dr. Deepak Prasad Raturi, Assistant Professor Sanskrit. This traditional ceremony symbolized the formal initiation of students into the Ayurvedic path, blessing their journey with knowledge and discipline.
On Date 17th December 2025, session on Research and Innovation by Prof (Dr) Rajesh Singh, Director, Research & Innovation, followed by lecture by Dr. Satwinder Kaur, DMS, UHDC on Role and ethics of Physician on 18th Dec 2025
From date 19th December to 27th December 2025, a series of guest lectures was successfully conducted. The guest lecture series featured professors including Dr. Sunita Fonia, Professor, Rasa Shastra & Bhaisajya Kalpana, Dr. Shweta Verma, Associate Professor, Dravyaguna, Dr. Akanksha Chauhan, Associate Professor, Rog Nidana & Vikriti Vijyana, Dr. Vidhushi Sharma, Associate Professor Rasa Shastra & Bhaisajya Kalpana, Dr. Rupali, Assistant Professor Panchakarma, Dr Komal,Assistant Professor Bal Roga, Dr. Chhavi, Assistant Professor ,Shayla who delivered lectures related to their respective departments.
