Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research hosted the 4th Lecture of its “Preventive and Promotive Ayurveda Health Campaign and Awareness Program” at Uttaranchal Institute of Technology on 14 September 2024. The program commenced with a welcome speech by Dr Madhu Kirola, Assistant Professor UIT. Following that, Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT, felicitated Dr Ravi Joshi, Principal UMCAR.
Dr Ravi Joshi, Medical Superintendent and Principal UMCAR led a detailed presentation on “Ayurveda – The Science of Life”. His insightful session highlighted the core principles of Ayurveda emphasizing its potential to prevent and cure various ailments. He discussed essential concepts like the three Doshas – Vata, Pitta and kapha, Panchamahabhuta etc. The presentation further explored the practice of Panchakarma, a detoxification process designed to purify the body and remove toxins, which is an essential part of Ayurvedic treatment. He also elaborated on the various health related facilities available at UHDC.
The event was attended by faculty members from both UIT and UMCAR including Dr Pinky Chugh, Dr Ruby Pant, Dr Sonali Purohit, Dr Richa Bhatt, Dr Amir Khan, Mr Madhav Nautiyal and others.
