Herbal Plantation Drive Organized at Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda & Research on World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda & Research, Premnagar, Dehradun, organized a special plantation drive in the college’s herbal garden.

The event was graced by Dr Amit Bhatt, Director who addressed all the teaching staff, RMOs, and other staff members, highlighting the importance of World Environment Day. He elaborated on this year’s theme — “Ending Plastic Pollution Globally” — and discussed how plastic pollution adversely affects both the environment and human health.

Dr Bhatt administered a pledge to all present to reduce plastic use in their daily lives and encourage others to do the same. He emphasized that even small, consistent efforts can lead to significant positive change.

Dr Ravi Joshi, Principal also addressed the gathering. Notable faculty members who participated in the event included Dr Rajeev Kumar, Professor, Dr Vidyarani Joshi, Associate Professor, Dr Deepak Prasad Raturi, Assistant Professor, Dr Rupali Purohit, MD, Panchkarma, Dr Shivani Kaloni, MD, Stree evam Prasuti Rog, Dr Satwinder Kaur, DMS, Dr Priyanka Kumain, EMO, along with other staff members who contributed significantly to the success of the program.

At the conclusion of the event, all participants collectively reaffirmed their commitment to work towards a plastic-free society and pledged to continue their efforts to protect the environment.

The college management expressed its gratitude to all who participated and announced plans to organize similar awareness programs in the future to promote environmental sustainability.
