Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research Celebrates International Women’s Day

Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research, Premnagar Dehradun, in association with Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated International Women’s Day on 9 March 2026.

The event aimed to highlight the significant role of women in bringing social transformation, promoting equality, and contributing to sustainable development in different sectors.

The highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Dr Satwinder Kaur Malhotra, Deputy Medical Superintendent and Emergency Medical Officer, UMCAR, Uttaranchal Hospital and Diagnostic Centre.

The program began with a warm welcome of the speaker by the organizing committee and faculty members. Dr.Satwinder Kaur emphasized that women are powerful agents of change who play a crucial role in shaping societies, economies, and communities. She discussed how empowering women through education, leadership opportunities, and equal rights can lead to a more sustainable and inclusive future. She also shared inspiring examples of women leaders who have made remarkable contributions in fields such as education, healthcare, science, business, and social welfare. Her insightful talk motivated the audience to recognize the potential of women as leaders and innovators in society.

The entire program was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR, Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Director, UIPS, Dr. Vibhooti Chandrakar, Principal, UMCAR and Dr.Yogita Tyagi, Head of Department, UIPS.
