Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda & Research, Premnagar, Dehradun celebrated the 10th Ayurveda Day with a week-long series of events from 17th to 24rd September 2025, embracing the theme “Ayurveda for People and Planet.” The celebrations highlighted Ayurveda’s role in ensuring holistic well-being while also emphasizing environmental sustainability.
The week commenced on 17th September 2025 with a health talk “Samhita se Samvad” by Dr. Vibhooti Chandrakar, Professor, Samhita & Siddhant followed by a thought-provoking street play by BAMS students on Ayurveda Ahara (Pathya–Apathya), creatively portraying the significance of mindful dietary habits.
On 18th September 2025, awareness sessions were delivered by Dr. Nandini Mishra, Associate Professor, Rachana Sharir and Dr. Preeti Vashist, Assistant Professor, Samhita & Siddhant which aimed to educate Nursing and Paramedical students about the applications of Ayurveda in individual and planetary health.
A rejuvenating yoga session was organized on 19th September 2025 by Dr. Geetanjali Chaudhary (Yoga Expert) as part of student wellness activities. On 20th September 2025, UMCAR, in association with Uttaranchal Hospital & Diagnostic Centre, organized a free medical consultation camp offering free consultations, investigations, and blood tests. A special attraction of the camp was the Prakriti Parikshan conducted by the BAMS 2024 batch, enhancing community health awareness.
Continuing the momentum, a rally was conducted by students of BAMS batch 2024 on 22nd September 2025, followed by a hawan on 23rd September 2025 led by Dr. Deepak Prasad Raturi, Assistant Professor, Sanskrit seeking blessings for the UMCAR & UHDC family. The celebrations concluded with a blood donation camp on 24th September 2025 in association with Subharti Hospital, City Blood Centre &Doon Hospital promoting the spirit of service and collective well-being.
