Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research Celebrates 11th International Yoga Day with Great Enthusiasm

Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research, in association with Uttaranchal Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Premnagar, Dehradun celebrated the 11th to International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025.

The program commenced with traditional lamp lightening and welcome address by Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director, UMCAR highlighting the significance of yoga in achieving physical, mental and spiritual well-being. This was followed by speech of Dr. Komal, Assistant Professor, Balroga who emphasized the benefits of yoga practices in day today life.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, whose encouraging words inspired everyone to integrate yoga as daily practice for mental clarity and physical resilience. Along with him, Prof (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna Pro Vice- Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, also graced the event.

This year’s theme for International Yoga Day “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” emphasizing a harmony between ourselves, humanity, environment and planet thus focusing on overall wellness.

Under the expert guidance of Ms Vimlesh, Assistant Professor, Yoga instructor, a highly energizing and transformative yoga session was conducted. Participants performed a wide range of Asanas (Yoga postures), pranayama (Breathing exercises), and Dhyana (Medication practices). The instructor explained the significance of each posture and breathing techniques.

The faculty and staff members, including Dr. Sonali Purohit, Dr. Rupali Purohit, Dr. Richa Bhatt, Dr. Satwinder Kaur, Dr. Mudit, Dr. Komal Dhiman, Dr. Prerna,Dr. Meena Joshi, Mr. Chandra Mohan, Mr. Madhav, Mr. Priyansh , Mr. Tulsi participated in the event.

The entire celebration was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR.
