“Vedarambh – Induction Programme of Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research”

Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research organized an induction program titled “Vedarambh” from 23 December 2024 to 9 January 2025. The program commenced with traditional lamp lighting and Dhanvantari Vandana in Swami Vivekanand Auditorium.

The highlight of the program was the presence of esteemed Chief Guest Prof (Dr) Arun Kumar Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, Uttarakhand Ayurveda University and the Guest of Honor Dr Sanjeev Kumar Pandey, Deputy Registrar, UAU. The program was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University; Ms Ankita Joshi Vice President; Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor and Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice Chancellor.

The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR. The first day featured a guest lecture by Dr. Himanshi Sharma, Consultant Psychologist, Graphic Era University followed by Dr Vidya Rani Joshi who discussed the basic principles of Ayurveda. On the following day, BAMS students visited Forest Research Institute. The third day witnessed a presentation by Dr Rajeev Kumar, Professor of Rachana Sharir, on the basic concepts of Rachana Sharir followed by a session on “Self Confidence” delivered by guest speaker Dr Sangeeta Agarwal, MBBS, D.G.O

On 28 December, Prof (Dr.) Balkrishan Panwar, Professor, Kriya Sharir, UAU, delivered a presentation on Career options after BAMS followed by a session by Dr Vibhooti Chandrakar, Professor of Samhita and Siddhant, on curriculum and evaluation scheme.

The following days followed a Hawan performed by Dr Deepak Prasad Raturi, Assistant Professor, Sanskrit; a lecture on “Basic Principles of Ayurveda” by Dr. Vidya Rani Joshi, Associate Professor, Kriya Sharir; a lecture by Dr. Deepak Prasad Raturi, Assistant Professor, on the significance of Sanskrit in Ayurveda; a laboratory visit to explore the college’s state-of-the-art facilities; a session on Research and Innovation by Prof. Rajesh Singh, Director Reasearch and Innovation, which aimed to inspire students to pursue research and innovation in Ayurveda; Hospital visit introduced for students; setting up of a book Stall offering a wide range of books on Ayurveda; a lecture on ‘Basics of Vyakaran’ by Dr Deepak Prasad Raturi, Assistant Professor, Sanskrit; a session for familiarizing the students with the college’s vast library facilities and a comprehensive lecture on the ‘Basics of Rachana’ Sharir by Dr Shivangi Kunwar, Assistant Professor, Rachana Sharir.

The event concluded with the traditional Shisyopanayana Sanskar ceremony. All faculty members participated in the induction program.
