Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research celebrated “World Cancer Day” on 4 February 2025 focusing on the theme “United by Unique”. The program aimed to raise awareness about cancer, its prevention and the importance of early detection.
The event was hosted by Ms Nikita Choudhary, a student of batch 2024-25, who ensured the smooth execution of the program. The highlight of the event was a presentation by Nandini Goswami, Nishat Mirza, Nivedita Bhandari and Nitin Sharma, students of UMCAR who shared valuable insights on cancer, its types, causes, symptoms and treatment options. Pragya Singh, a student, delivered a speech on the importance of cancer awareness, the role of Ayurveda in prevention and treatment of cancer and about the National Policy of Cancer. A heartfelt poetic tribute was presented by Pawan Kumar and Prerna Mogha. Their poems left a lasting impact, reinforcing the message of unity and support in cancer care.
All faculty members along with all the students of BAMS 2024-25, attended the program. The entire event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR and Dr Ravi Joshi, Principal UMCAR.
