UMCAR celebrated “World Leprosy Day”

Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda and Research celebrated World Leprosy Day on 30 January 2025 with an awareness program centered on the theme “Towards Zero Leprosy”. The event aimed to raise awareness about leprosy and encourage collective efforts to eradicate the disease. 

The program was hosted by Ms Mudita, a student of BAMS, who welcomed the guests and initiated the program. The highlight of the program was a presentation on leprosy by Muskan, Lavanya, Faisal and Adnan, students of BAMS 2024-25. The presentation provided valuable insights into the disease, its causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options with focus on Ayurvedic perspectives and approaches. 

The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Professor of Rachana Sharir, who expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers and faculty members. 

Faculty members along with all students of the BAMS, batch 2024-25, attended the program. The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr Amit Bhatt, Director UMCAR and Dr Ravi Joshi, Principal, UMCAR.
